Grant applications are available online and can be submitted between June 1, 2020 – July 15, 2020. Applications will be considered on a rolling basis – submit yours as soon as possible while funds remain available. Up to $15,000 may be awarded to each approved grantee with requests outside of this range being considered on an as-needed basis. Funding will be awarded on or before August 19, 2020.

Applications are to be submitted electronically through the Foundation’s online system, which is accessed by clicking the “Apply” button below.

Consistent with COVID-19 social distancing and/or state reopening guidelines, where applicable, funding requests may include programs relating to:

  • Personal Protective Equipment
  • Specialized Firefighting Equipment
  • Mitigation & Fuels Reduction
  • First Responder Training
  • Fire Prevention Education & Planning
  • Community Outreach & Preparedness

Eligibility:

California-based fire departments, firefighter associations, fire safe councils, and community-based organizations (CERT/NERT or safety-focused organizations) throughout California are welcome to apply for wildfire safety and preparedness funding.

Factors for funding consideration may include the size of an organization’s impact reach, percentage of an organization’s service area that is identified as a disadvantaged community, or percentage of an organization’s service area that is located in a Tier 3 (extreme) or Tier (elevated) high-fire threat area, as defined by the California Public Utilities Commission.\
