The Fire Safe Council of San Diego County (FSCSDC), in partnership with the Resource Conservation District of Greater San Diego County (RCD) and the San Diego County Parks and Recreation Department will be hosting this year’s Fire Safe San Diego Event on Saturday, September 29, 2007 at Dos Picos County Park in Ramona, CA. Click here for a map to Dos Picos County Park.

This will be the second year we have hosted this event incorporating Community Fire Safe Council (FSC) volunteer recognition and public resources available to create fire safe communities.  The Fire Safe San Diego Event will begin with a Recognition Awards Ceremony and Breakfast at 9:00 am.  The educational outreach portion of the event is open to the general public from 11:00 am – 3:00 pm.  We will be hosting numerous exhibits, demonstrations, and workshops highlighting this year’s theme: Prepare, Prevent, Protect. Through these exhibits and demonstrations we will provide event participants with resources to become more fire safe. Click here to view the Event Flyer.

Workshops will feature grant resources available to FSCs, survival tools and techniques, and communication strategies. Demonstrations will illustrate how to properly use a fire extinguisher, the efficacy of products such as Thermo-Gel and other Class A foams and fire resistive materials used in fire wise landscaping and construction.

The schedule of workshops and events will be coming soon...

Please contact Christine Meyers or Sabrina Harder, Fire Safe Council Coordinators, at (619)562-0096 if you have any questions or would like more information.
