SUMMARY:FSCSDC General Meeting
DESCRIPTION:Please join us for the General meeting starting at 10:30am. \nThrough the generous support of our partners at San Diego County Fire Authority\, we are able to host this meeting at the County of San Diego County Operations Center\, located at 5520 Overland Ave. in the Public Hearing Chamber (Next to the Commons Cafeteria). \nParking will be located in the parking structure\, adjacent to 5520. Click here to view the map . \nWe have scheduled another very important presentation for the General Meeting conducted by Chief Butz\, who will lead a Community Wildfire Protection Plan (CWPP) workshop. The presentation will focus on a template and step-by-step completion guide to facilitate the creation or updating a CWPP. Creating a CWPP can mobilize your community to take action to protect lives\, property\, structures\, and community livelihoods\, and can help enhance safety and reduce risk of damage to structures and watersheds. In addition\, communities with a CWPP are given priority for certain funds for hazardous fuel reduction projects. The process begins with a community organization such as a Fire Safe Council or Community Planning Group. Collaboration with federal\, state\, and local fire jurisdictions as well as local stakeholders is essential.
