SUMMARY:Burn Run 5K to benefit the Burn Institute
DESCRIPTION:Help the Burn Institute promote Burn Awareness Week and raise funds to support burn prevention education and burn survivor support programs by running or walking in the Burn Run 5K. Among children aged 4 and under\, scald injuries are most prevalent burn injury. Scald injuries are painful and require prolonged treatment. They may result in lifelong scarring and even death. Prevention of scalds is always preferable to treatment and can be accomplished through simple changes in behavior and the home environment. DESCRIPTION:| Free\n\nEvent Navigation\n  \n\n\n\nFire Operations in the Wildland Urban Interface: for community FSCs\, CERT members\, and local residents \nCourse description: This is a one day in-depth course for local residents to learn the principles used by firefighters in suppressing wildland fire and protecting structures in the Wildland Urban Interface. Participants will learn about fire behavior prediction and apply this knowledge to the community’s topography\, fuels\, weather\, and the community’s Fire Safe condition including the construction of homes.
