DESCRIPTION:Fire Operations in the Wildland Urban Interface: for community FSCs\, CERT members\, and local residents \nCourse description: This is a one day in-depth course for local residents to learn the principles used by firefighters in suppressing wildland fire and protecting structures in the Wildland Urban Interface. Participants will learn about fire behavior prediction and apply this knowledge to the community’s topography\, fuels\, weather\, and the community’s Fire Safe condition including the construction of homes. The training will include a field trip to selected homes to do a site assessment on lessons learned\, and discussions about evacuation and survival tips. \nTrainer: J.P Harris\, Los Angeles County Fire Department Battalion Chief (retired) \nDate: Saturday April 1\, 2017\, 8:00 am — 4:30 pm \nLocation: Fallbrook Public Utility District. 990 E. The course is free of charge; beverages and lunch will be provided. \nThis workshop is hosted by the Fallbrook FSC\, Mission Resource Conservation District\, DeLuz CERT\, and administered by the Resource Conservation District of Greater San Diego County\, in partnership with the Fire Safe Council of San Diego County. Funding is provided by a National Fire Plan grant from the Cooperative Fire program of the U.S. Forest Service through the California Fire Safe Council. DESCRIPTION:SDCFA CERT – So. Division is co-hosting the Spring 2017 County-wide CERT Drill with East County CERT.  CERT members will put into practice the skills learned during the Basic CERT Academy.​ \nQuick Details: Participants will be provided a Continental Breakfast and water.  Participants will need to bring their own lunch. Pre-registration with each CERT’s Program Manager is required.​\nVolunteers needed: as “role players” with simulated injuries.
