Today, the Fire Safe Council of San Diego County honored the exceptional volunteers and agency partners who work to keep our County safer from wildfire. Over 100 individuals turned out today to celebrate the amazing work that took place this year, and celebrate grant awards made for projects in 2023.

The following community Fire Safe Councils were awarded grant checks from the San Diego Regional Fire Foundation’s SAFE Grant Program, funded in part by San Diego Gas and Electric, the San Diego Regional Fire Foundation, and the San Diego River Conservancy through the governor’s Wildfire Early Action Plan. Projects funded included community chipping events, wildfire prevention education, administrative costs, capacity building and more.
