The 2020 fire season was California’s largest and most destructive season. Although wildfire can cause considerable harm, it is an integral part of California’s ecosystems. California Native Plants Society launched the California Fire Followers campaign to record plants response to fire.

Community scientists are an important part of maintaining up to date knowledge of changes in California’s plant communities. Help us gain a better understanding of how plants are responding to wildfires in California by contributing photos to the Fire Followers iNaturalist project. Learn more about the project, which burn areas are safe and open to visit, and see how you can win exclusive Fire Followers prizes! Be a part of this citizen science campaign today!
